Education - Professional Development
Professional development initiatives provide educators with methods and materials for teaching in an effort to improve teachers' knowledge and skills and raise student achievement. The National Education Association recommends that 50 percent of teachers' time be given to professional development."
Our teachers must receive top-notch professional development to teach to new, higher standards; to take advantage of the latest tools that technology has to offer; and to fully master their subject matter. But the technological tools available today do not fit this need seamlessly yet, and teachers and staff (and students) need training and professional development in order to make the best use of technology in schools. In fact, providing sufficient training to give staff the skills and confidence to use technology is widely viewed as an ongoing challenge in academic institutions.
At Edutech, we address this challenge by designing solutions that prepare instructors to use technology through the following:
Training on learning technologies - we familiarize instructors with the operation of learning tools and software, and design courses on change management, and institutional and administrative management.
Integration & application of technology - we design solutions that integrate technology into teaching, learning, and administrative processes. These include introducing virtual classroom training, migrating lesson plans and curricula to online education platforms such as BlackBoard etc.
Training delivery platform - we provide the technology infrastructure that includes hosted model virtual collaboration, authoring tools, and assessment & survey tools.
